An organisation that highlights the damage plastic has upon the oceans has chosen ABB to provide shipboard systems and expertise to support its research voyages undertaken.
- By the Ocean we Unite is a charitable organisation that shows how millions of tonnes of plastic and toxic chemicals affect the ocean and looks at ways to identify sources and effects.
- A 17-day voyage is to take place onboard a research vessel, Fantastiko, to support scientists with finding the sources and impact of plastic pollution in waters off Rotterdam, the South of England, the Channel Islands, France and Belgium during August.
- ABB is a campaign partner and sponsor that will publicise voyage data through its online Marine Fleet portal that links to the organisation’s website where information on types of plastic found will be inputted.
