Astomos and Elgas sign MoU to study LPG as a marine fuel

Astomos Energy Corporation and Elgas Limited have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to study the use of liquefied petroleum gas as a marine fuel.

  • MoU will facilitate further study into the feasibility of using LPG on ships to enable them to comply with the IMO’s 2020 global sulphur cap of 0.5%.
  • MoU will increase cooperation between Astomos and Elgas for LPG bunkering within Asia Pacific specifically.
  • Astomos and Elgas have developed a strong business relationship in the field of seaborne LPG trading over the past few years and this MoU will aim to strengthen this relationship.
