ClassNK approves plan for Asian ship recycling facility

Tsuneishi Ship Recycling has submitted and received approval from ClassNK for a Ship Recycling Facility Plan in South-East Asia.

ClassNK’s verification indicates that the facility will be in line with the 2009 Hong Kong ship recycling convention.
This is the first application by a South-East Asian ship recycling facility that has been submitted to ClassNK and to comply with the convention from its planning stage.
Ship recycling facility will be constructed in Negros Occidental, the Philippines, and will be operated by Tsuneishi Group. ClassNK will conduct on-site inspection once recycling work commences.
