Company Progresses Towards 3D Ship Performance Management Hub

Logimatic has launched its Performance Management Service Centre (PSMC) that is designed to improve visual presentation of shipboard data and move towards 3D vessel performance management services.

The vessel reporting system and dynamic dashboards within its Sertica software package is built on three dimensions: the Planned Maintenance system, Vessel Reporting & Performance Management and the Performance Management Service Centre, to provide customers with expert advice on performance issues within their ships.

Any shipping company that is running Sertica can outsource the task of performance optimisation to the Logimatic PMSC, which will then be able to provide advice on ship performance, including fuel consumption, engine adjustments, bunker management, hull and propeller cleanings as well as maintenance schedules and equipment procedures.

Data can be provided by the system to help verify operational issues, such as increased fuel consumption as a result of lack of maintenance of the main engine fuel pumps.  The system is also able to correlate the time between overhauls (TBO) to the wear rates, increased fuel consumption, loss of man power, man hours used for repair, spares consumed and other relevant information.

The flexibility of the system enables key performance indicators (KPI) to be reflected, including those on the company, vessel group, and individual vessels or superintendent levels.  Data and indexes can be compared against sister vessels, vessels with identical engines, vessels on same route.

Allan H. Rasmussen, Senior Consultant, Logimatic, commented: “The potential of big data crunching in one single database is not far away. Imagine one single platform providing info on planned maintenance, purchases, safety issues, dry-docking schedules, noon reporting from vessels, bunkers, certificates, engine performance, measurement trending, KPI tracking and much more. Then imagine all this data being analysed for coherence and causality. This is what Sertica can provide in the future.”
