Corvus battery solution to cut emissions in Chinese port

Corvus Energy is to provide its lithium-ion energy storage system to four hybrid rubber tired gantry cranes at the Port of Changshu, China.

  • Corvus’ Orca energy storage system (ESS) will be part of the port’s crane conversions to hybrid power.
  • According to Corvus, switching from diesel electric port cranes to the hybrid version using the Orca ESS will result in fuel savings by 65%.
  • ESS, which will be provided for CCCC Shanghai Equipment Engineering, will also reduce operating costs and noise at the port.
