DMA provides access to historical AIS data

The Danish Maritime Authority has opened up further access to its historical automatic identification systems (AIS) data, providing data from 2006-2014.

  • The historical data will be available for free for the next six months. Previously data has only been available from 2014-2016.
  • According to the DMA, these AIS data will allow users to make analyses, services or new products.
  • Historical data will act as a supplement to current AIS data, helping users to analyse previous navigational patters and the exchange of ship-to-ship information.
