FSRU concept receives ABS approval in principle

Chiyoda Corporation, Japan, has developed a concept for a floating liquefied natural gas power plant and floating storage and regasification unit that has received approval in principle from ABS.

  • Design concept is based on existing LNG carries that are converted into floating power plants.
  • It will enable LNG to be distributed to remote areas of the world.
  • ABS applied its relevant Rules and Guides to confirm that the conceptual design meets the intent of applicable class requirements.
