Cobham SATCOM has announced a new lighter Ku-band version of its SAILOR 60cm antenna technology that will increase Ku-band VSAT services at sea.
- Ku-band will give faster, flexible and predictable pay monthly VSAT services according to Cobham.
- SAILOR 600 uses a small antenna but can switch between Ku-band wide beams and spot beams to increase global service availability.
- Technology is based on lightweight carbon fibre and aluminium, meaning it can be installed without a crane in port. It will become available this summer.
