Lloyd’s Register to oversee USCG testing of Coldharbour’s BWTS

Ballast water treatment system manufacturer, Coldharbour Marine, has signed a contract with Lloyd’s Register to oversee the complete range of tests that are required by the US Coast Guard in order to achieve type approval of a BWTS.

  • USCG has certified LR as an Independent Laboratory that will work alongside Marine Eco Analytics test laboratory in the Netherlands to test the inert gas BWTS.
  • Only recently a certified laboratory became available to test in-tank BWTS like Coldharbour’s, rather than just in-line BWTS.
  • Testing will cover all types of water. Lloyd’s Register will act as test supervisor on behalf of the USCG and will oversee every process at sea or on land.
