The European Sustainable Shipping Forum (ESSF) debated about the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel when they met in Brussels on June 28, 2016.
The European Community Shipowners’ Associations (ECSA) suggested that sub-group work must continue. They emphasised the importance of smooth interaction between ship owners, ports and LNG suppliers to facilitate the use of LNG, while also suggesting this approach should be the same for any other alternative fuel.
