LNG bunkering facility to be opened in Gothenburg

Port of Gothenburg pushes shipping to decarbonise

MAN Cryo has signed a contract with Swedish infrastructure company, Swedegas, to deliver a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering facility to the Port of Gothenburg, Sweden.

  • Facility will allow vessels to bunker LNG from trucks or containers while unloading cargo at two jetties so no refuelling stop will be required.
  • A discharge station for LNG trailers or containers, feeding pumps, vacuum-insulated piping and bunkering equipment will make up the new facility.
  • MAN Cryo, MAN Diesel & Turbo’s marine-LNG fuel-gas-system manufacturer, will oversee the project, which is scheduled to opened during 2018. It will be operated and managed by Swedegas in close cooperation with the Port of Gothenburg.
