Marine alternators company launches UK test centre

Alternator manufacturer, Mecc Alte has launched a marine test centre at its UK headquarters at Oakham, East Midlands.

  • Alternators are used onboard to provide emergency or auxiliary power and can form part of the main propulsion system.
  • They convert mechanical energy to electrical energy using an alternating current.
  • According to Mecc Alte, it has become the largest independent producer of alternators on the planet and applies them to all types of vessels.
