Minerva Marine has selected Wärtsilä’s Aquarius ballast water management system for retrofit to several of its tankers.
- Aquarius BWMS uses electrochlorination and filtration to render organisms inactive.
- It has no salinity or temperature limits and is constructed from modules to enable easy installation and minimal footprint.
- System is IMO type approved and has alternative management acceptance from the US Coast Guard.
