Neste uses ex-pipe to deliver low-sulphur fuel at Swedish terminal

Neste has begun delivery of low-sulphur marine fuel using an ex-pipe.  This transfers fuel directly from the Södertälje terminal in Sweden to the ships without separate refuelling trucks or vessels.

  • Ex-pipe means ships can be refuelled while performing other operations
  • According to Neste the transfer of fuel this way is safer as there is no need for trucks to operate while other cargo is around.
  • Ex-pipe can be used for ships calling the Södertälje terminal for cargo and for ships passing the terminal. Service will first be used by a tanker operated by Sirius Chartering.
