OOCL selects Shell’s marine services

Orient Overseas Container Line has chosen Shell Marine to provide the company with marine services.

  • Shell will provide cylinder oil options to OOCL to protect its ships’ engines against cold corrosion and optimise feed rates.
  • The services will be applied to OOCL’s latest ship of 21,413 TUUs, reportedly the world’s largest containership, which requires close oil performance monitoring and high quality cylinder oil due to its operation in challenging conditions between Asia and Europe.
  • Shell LubeMonitor is also used by OOCL to help monitor and optimise engine performance and enable predictive maintenance.
