Port of Montreal develops LNG supply solution

The Port of Montreal is to provide a supply system for liquefied natural gas for use as a marine fuel. 

  • LNG supply solution was developed by Gaz Métro and the Port of Montreal to encourage shipowners to use the fuel across their fleets.
  • Port of Montreal congratuled Canadian shipowner and operator Groupe Desgagnés for being the first commercial shipowner to order vessels that can use LNG.
  • It says that the group’s use of LNG and the port’s development of the supply solution shows Québec’s commitment to making shipping more environmentally friendly.
