Stena Line AB is to introduce intelligent awareness systems to its fleet through a collaboration with Rolls Royce.
- Fusing data from sensors already onboard, including automatic identification systems and radar, with global databases will give crews a better understanding of their vessels’ operational environments.
- This will make ships safer, easier and more efficient to operate.
- According to Rolls-Royce, pilot projects such as this one will help them see how combining sensor technologies can be adapted to the needs of commercial vessels and their crews.
