SEA\LNG calls on industry for global sulphur cap commitment

SEA\LNG, a coalition of 28 organisations working to facilitate the uptake of liquefied natural gas in the maritime industry, has called on the industry to redouble its commitment to the IMO’s MARPOL Annex VI regulation on the prevention of air pollution from ships.

  • SEA\LNG believes that Port State Authorities must ensure even handed and consistent enforcement of the IMO regulations governing air pollution.
  • Collective commitment to compliance and enforcement is essential to eradicate emissions of SOx, NOx and PM says SEA\LNG chairman, Peter Keller.
  • Advancements in dual-fuel technology, increases in LNG port bunkering infrastructure and new bunkering hubs indicate the developing LNG market and opportunities for uptake of the marine fuel.
