Total Lubmarine’s cylinder lube oil, Talusia Optima, has received a No Objection Letter from MAN Diesel & Turbo for use in the engine manufacturer’s two-stroke engines.
- Sea trial of 8,700 hours took place to test the lubricant onboard a 14,000 TEU containership voyaging in and out of Emission Control Areas in Europe and Asia.
- Lubricant is specifically designed for ships switching between fuels of 0-3.5% sulphur content to facilitate smooth operation in and out of ECAs.
- Talusia Optima is now approved by three two-stroke engine manufacturers in total including Winterthur Gas & Diesel (WinGD) and Japan Engine Corporation (JEC).
