UECC Launches Second Dual-Fuel LNG Car Carrier

United European Car Carriers (UECC) has launched its second dual-fuel car carrier (Ro Ro) that can operate purely on liquefied natural gas (LNG).

The TBN Auto Energy follows the launch of TBN Auto Eco last April.

The ships are both built to 1A Finnish/Swedish ice class and can complete a 14-day round voyage in the Baltic using LNG alone for the main engine and auxiliary power generation.

The Ro Ro vessels are two of the most technically advanced and can carry approximately 3,800 standard sized card over 10 decks.

TBN Auto Energy will now undergo sea and gas trials before final delivery to UECC on November 28th this year, during which the vessel will test its engines using LNG fuel.

Both vessels were officially launched at the Nacks shipyard in Nantong, China, where they were built.
