Wärtsilä has received 2017 certification of emissions compliance from the US Environmental Protection Agency for its Wärtsilä 34DF dual-fuel engine family.
- Certification verifies that Wärtsilä 34DF engine is compliant with the EPA’s Tier III emission standards.
- It is equipped with a nitrogen oxides measuring and monitoring system to ensure NOx emissions are kept to a level compliant with NOx Emission Control Areas.
- Outside ECAs the Wärtsilä 34DF engine can be operated using conventional marine diesel fuels.
