World’s first hydrogen powered vessel sets sail

The world’s first hydrogen ship, Energy Observer, to make global tour in bid to raise awareness of renewable energy.

  •  Energy Observer’s tour set to take 6 years, stopping at over 100 locations to promote clean energy generation.
  • Hydrogen to be produced on board, using sea water for electrolysis.
  • The ship is said to have a zero carbon footprint and will aim to present the opportunities for renewable energy across the maritime and transport industries.
  • The project is supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
