DNV GL has carried out its first offshore drone survey in the North Sea.
- A semisubmersible tender support vessel, owned and operated by Prosafe to support Staoil’s drilling operations off the coast of Norway, has undergone a drone survey.
- DNV GL’s surveyors used camera equipped drones to check the vessel’s fairleads and connection with the two columns that hold up the vessel. Survey showed the connections were in a good condition.
- Drone survey took just a few hours and proved the ability for remote monitoring of external components in challenging offshore environments.
