The UK Chamber of Shipping and Fathom Maritime Intelligence have entered into partnership to deliver practical, focussed industry forums to support ship owners and operators in managing key aspects of maritime operations.
The inaugural forum, ‘OPFOCUS: Fuelling Operations’, is to be held on February 9, 2016 at the UK Chamber of Shipping’s headquarters in Central London. It will examine fuel management across a fleet from optimising current fuel use through to viable future alternatives for the UK maritime industry. Exploration of the commercial, technical and regulatory aspects of fuelling operations today and in the future will also be embarked upon.
The first session of the day, ‘An Optimal Bunker Fuel Strategy’, will host discussion around the market outlook for bunker fuel; fuel quality trends, problems and solutions; bunker measurement accuracy and fuel efficiency optimisation.
The second session of the day, ‘Fuelling Dilemmas: Sustainable Fuel Strategies’, will focus on alternative fuels such as LNG and methanol, environmentally compliant fuels and hybrid opportunities such as hybrid and dual fuel engines.
The third session of the day, ‘Technical Solutions for Fuel Efficiency and Emissions Reduction’, will showcase methods and solutions for achieving fuel efficiency and emissions reduction including fuel emulsification, shore power and exhaust gas treatment systems.
The forum will close with a roundtable debate.
