Up to $34 million available statewide on a first-come, first-served basis until September 22, 2021 or until funding is exhausted
Announcement: The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is pleased to announce that up to $34 million is now open on a first-come, first-served basis for the VW Environmental Mitigation Trust Zero-Emission Freight and Marine project categories including:
- Scrap and replace projects that upgrade heavy-lift forklifts, port cargo handling equipment and airport ground support equipment to new zero-emission technologies;
- Scrap and repower projects for ferries, tugboats, and towboats that replace engines with new, zero-emission, all-electric technologies; and
- Shore power installation projects at berths that serve ocean-going vessels.
