Nordic Maritime Hub Drives Alternative Fuels At Danish Port

A new European funded Nordic Maritime Hub project has recently commenced, the purpose of which is to drive shore-side power supply, port access and bunkering facilities for alternative fuels at the Port of Frederikshavn, Denmark.

The project, which is being financed under the European Union’s (EU’s) TEN-T initiative, is expected to provide huge potential for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the Baltic Sea area.

It not only aims to increase the production and open new markets for LNG and alternative fuels in Denmark, but for the entire Baltic Sea area.

The consortium leading the project includes the Port of Frederikshavn, Kosan Crisplant and Stena Line.

The Nordic Maritime Hub project is scheduled to run through 2018.
