Maersk Say They May Use LNG In The Future

Maersk say that they may use LNG as a marine fuel in the future.

The remarks were made be Paolo Tonon, head of Maersk Maritime Technology, when he joined the board meeting the Society for Gas as Marine Fuel (SGMF) which promote safety and industry best practice in the use of gas as a marine fuel.

Mark Bell, general manager for SGMF, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Maersk Maritime Technology to our network since the deep sea and container sector is, of course, extremely significant for the future development of LNG as marine fuel. The Maersk Group is one of the first large players from this segment to join our network.”
