Wan Hai Lines has been presented with the Best Green Shipping Line award at the 2016 Asian Freight Logistics and Supply Chain Awards for its efforts towards achieving sustainable environmental goals.
This particular award is given to companies that have proven their compliance with national and global environmental regulations and standards, and invested in new environmental technologies and measures to reduce fuel consumption.
The company has to date shown good compliance with environmental standards, such as ISO 014001 for environmental management systems, and MARPOL as well as the International Safety Management Code (ISM Code).
Wan Hai Lines has installed ship efficiency software ClassNK-NAPA GREEN to help reduce fuel costs and CO2 consumption for compliance with International Maritime Organization (IMO) Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) requirements.
Wan Hai Lines has also established extensive environmental management systems.
