The Norwegian ferry owner and operator’s Melshorn and Vardehorn ferries will be converted using electric propulsion systems supplied by Siemens. The ferries will undergo propulsion system and power electronics renovation and receive installation of battery pack.
The modifications will also enable the ferries to undergo conversion to full electric propulsion in the future.
The conversion will take place under Havyard Ship Technology immediately and is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
