NOVATEK has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mitsubishi Corporation Tokyo to implement liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects and supply the fuel and liquid hydrocarbons across Russia.
- NOVATEK has a number of hydrocarbon resource bases that will help the Japanese company to develop LNG projects.
- Japan is currently the largest consumer of LNG and already has experience with LNG technologies, marketing, and logistics.
- According to the companies, the strategic cooperation will enable them both to work together and strengthen the economic links between Russia and Japan.
