A three-day workshop in Malaysia run by the International Maritime Organization has enabled port state control officers to practice inspecting air pollution and energy efficiency rules.
- Workshop allowed officials to train in the enforcement of MARPOL Annex VI regulations, using a real container ship in Johor Port.
- Lectures, exercises and onboard practical training was given with certificates, documentation, and bunker fuel inspections carried out.
- Two day MARPOL Annex VI inspection campaign will be undertaken by officials following the training in Port Klang, Malaysia.
