- Centre comes under the Global Maritime Technology Cooperation Centre Network, which selects and unites technology centres into global network.
- This global network focuses on supporting developing countries with the creation of national energy-efficiency policies for their maritime sectors.
- The centres are part of a project funded by the EU and run by the IMO.
