SUNY Maritime College, New York and start-up platform company EEX Maritime Oy, of Finland have signed a memorandum of understanding to encourage entrepreneurship and promote collaboration between start-ups, large companies and thought leaders in the maritime industry.
- According to co-founder of EEX Maritime, Tapio Peltonen, entrepreneurial start-up companies and can have an economic impact well beyond their own size.
- Companies will work to help start-up companies access resources such as expert faculty, proximity to New York City, the Port of New York/New Jersey, and student interns.
- Companies may also host events to encourage collaboration and build connections between entrepreneurs, innovators and existing businesses.
