BC Ferries’ dual-fuel vessel, Salish Eagle, is to enter service on Wednesday June 21.
- Vessel is the second of three new vessels that will be capable of operating on liquefied natural gas or ultra-low sulphur marine diesel fuel.
- BC Ferries estimates its dual-fuel engine will reduce CO2 by 9,000 tonnes per year.
- Salish Eagle will operate alongside Salish Orca and Salish Raven along the Southern Gulf islands route known as the Tsawwassen.
