Alfa Laval’s PureSOx installed on more than 100 ships

Alfa Laval has announced that 109 vessels to date have selected to install its PureSOx marine scrubber.

• PureSOx removed sulphur oxides from ships’ engines down to 0.1% to ensure compliance with IMO regulations on SOx in Emission Control Areas.
• Across the 109 vessels, there are more than 75 PureSOx systems in use. According to Alfa Laval, 41 vessels have been newbuild projects and over 60 have been retrofits.
• The first system was installed on a Ficaria Seaways vessel eight years ago.
