ABB’s MRV tool receives Verifavia certification

ABB’s Monitoring Reporting and Verification (MRV) module has received certification from Verifavia.

• The tool monitors all parameters needed to comply with the EU’s MRV regulation that will enter into effect from January 1, 2018.
• It requires all ships above 5,000 GT to monitor, report and verify their total CO₂ emissions on a per voyage basis to collect total emissions over a year.
• ABB’s tool collects data on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from onboard sensors. It then creates an annual emissions report for submission to prove compliance with the regulation.
