AIDA Cruises has taken delivery of the second of two large cruise ships that has the option to use liquefied natural gas when in port.
- AIDAperla was delivered by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to its Nagasaki Shipyard & Machinery Works. It is scheduled to set sail for Majorca, Spain at the beginning of May, 2017.
- Cruise vessel is equipped with MHI’s Mitsubishi Air Lubrication System that reportedly enhances fuel efficiency.
- It also features a pod propulsion system and a new air-conditioning system that saves on energy consumption by using waste heat.
