Anticipation Builds For Ship Efficiency: The Event 2015

Ship Efficiency: The Event 2015, held in association with Inmarsat and organised by Fathom Maritime Intelligence, will once again take place at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Central London on 8-9 September 2015, this year as an official part of London International Shipping Week.

The conference, to be chaired by David Balston, Director of Policy UK Chamber of Shipping, will host a broad spectrum of ship efficiency leaders at its podium including; Ronald Spithout, President – Inmarsat Maritime; Dr Jan Otto de Kat, Director of Energy Efficiency – ABS Europe; Dr Martin Stopford, President – Clarksons Research Services; Oskar Levander, Vice President of Innovation, Engineering and Technology – Rolls-Royce Marine, among many others.

Highlights for day one of the conference include; Examining The Ship of Tomorrow, The Owners & Operators Roundtable and Financing Efficiency.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to hear the latest discussion and musings on the impact of maritime regulations during the ‘Regulatory Affairs’ panel session on day one of the conference, to be moderated by the Deputy Secretary General of BIMCO, Lars Robert Pedersen. This session will host key and influential personnel involved in the regulation of maritime environmental impact and ship efficiency, including; Arsenio Dominguez, Chairman of the IMO Marine Environment Protection Committee; Katy Ware, UK Maritime & Coastguard Agency and Permanent Representative of the UK to the IMO; Jeffrey G. Lantz, Director of Commercial Regulations & Standards, United States Coast Guard; and Niels BjørnMortensen, Head of Regulatory Affairs – Maersk Maritime Technology.

The agenda for day two takes on a more operational guise, as solutions providers deliver technical information in sessions focused on efficiency and environmental management for specific areas of shipboard operations. Session highlights will include Ship Power & Design, Air Emissions Management and Environmental Management for Commercial Gain.

Alongside the conference, Ship Efficiency: The Event 2015 will play host to a free-to-attend exhibition hall of over 30 solution providers, including; Inmarsat, Hempel, Schneider Electric, Caterpillar, Tero Marine, Eniram, SulNOx, Cammell Laird, VAF Instruments, CP Desk, Thordon Bearings, Pole Star Space Applications, ACO Marine, among many more.

The second annual Ship Efficiency Awards, hosted by Lloyd’s Register, will conclude Ship Efficiency: The Event 2015. This awards ceremony will celebrate the organisations and individuals driving ship efficiency and sustainability in the industry.

Tickets for Ship Efficiency: The Event 2015are still available to purchase, with fares ranging from £495 for a full two-day pass with access to all aspects of the event, to £60 for a pass to the Ship Efficiency Awards Ceremony on the afternoon of 9 September.

Complimentary passes are available to representatives of shipping companies. However, complimentary passes are subject to availability and potential visitors are advised to book ahead in order to secure attendance.

Persons who only wish to attend the exhibition or join the evening drinks reception on the evening of 8 September must reserve their pass in advance.
