NISOMAR, the company established by former Inchcape Shipping Services CEO Claus Hyldager has won a contract with Norwegian Cruise Lines.
Nisomar was established in April this year in the UK, selling itself as a significant new entrant in the ship agency industry, saying that it believes “innovation in shipping has fallen well behind other sectors” and that it has launched a unique range of services with what it calls “ insights derived from big data that support business decisions, transformational management consultancy, and port call services covering all key regions.”
It aims to sell its services to ship owners, operators, brokers and charterers, and financial institutions. Following the new agreement, Nisomar said in a press release it will provide services relating to launches visiting vessels in ports such as pilot launches and other boats. The contract applies to the company’s three brands (Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises) and across ten Chilean ports, with services relating to pilot embarkation/disembarkation, berthing assistance, liaison with local port authorities and service launches for each visit.
The ports will include Arica, Iquique, Coquimbo, San Antonio, Puerto Montt, Puerto Chacabuco, Punta Arenas and Posesion Bay.
In the company press release, Jaime Otero, Regional Managing Director, Nisomar South America, said at the agreement signing: “As a new business we are extremely pleased to sign our first launch services agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings – which has such an excellent reputation worldwide and look forward to an extremely successful season.”
