BIMCO To Host ‘Prime Performance’ Conference To Explore Operational Best Practice

13 nov 4

BIMCO is set to examine operational best practice for specific areas of shipboard operations through the PRIME Performance conference, being held on 26 November at DieselHouse in Copenhagen.

This free-to-attend, full-day conference will offer a forum to share best practice, examine case studies and learn about solutions to optimise the capability of ship operations.

Jeppe Skovbakke Juhl, Senior Marine Technical Officer at BIMCO, said: “Today’s efficient ship performance is about more than engines and systems – the ship’s crew and their training are also crucial aspects. Ensuring prime performance of the ship is a multidisciplinary task, which requires focus on each and every detail onboard.”

He continued: “This conference will explore the breadth and depth of what’s involved to achieve that prime performance.”

Four distinct areas that are key to optimising the prime performance of ship operations will drive the conference session content; Power & Propulsion, Data Management, Environmental Performance and People.

The conference will be held at Copenhagen’s DieselHouse, a museum owned and managed by one of the leading providers of large diesel engines for use in ships and power stations, MAN Diesel & Turbo.

To celebrate hosting this conference with BIMCO and Fathom Maritime Intelligence, Man Diesel & Turbo will start the engine of the museum’s operational 1932 H. C. Ørsteds ship engine in a special display for delegates.
