AkzoNobel marine coating makes 1000th application

AkzoNobel’s Intersleek biocide-free antifouling coating has made its 1000^th application.

Milestone application was made to the Al Gattara liquefied natural gas tanker operated by Nakilat Shipping Qatar Ltd.
According to AkzoNobel the coating has proven vessel drag reductions, increased fuel efficiency and achieved emissions savings of 9%.
Shipowners and operators using a biocide-free coating can qualify for AkzoNobel’s carbon credits initiative.
