CO2 Emissions Per Transported Unit Halved for Pure Car Truck Carrier

The CO2 emissions per transported unit of the world’s largest Pure Car Truck Carrier (PCTC) have been halved compared to similar ships. The vessel recently completed sea trials.

Sea trials were completed in early August and a naming ceremony will be held on August 24 in Xiamen, China.

The design of the new Horizon Hull 462E car carrier, which as a deck area of 71,400m2, has focussed on energy efficiency improvements compared with conventional car carriers.

The fuel-saving and emissions-reducing car carrier is the fifth in a series of six Post-Panamax vessels for Höegh Autoliners that will be delivered later this year.
