Color Line and Ulstein Verft have signed a Letter of Intent for the construction of the largest hybrid vessel in the world.
- The ferry will be powered using batteries when entering sensitive fjord areas
- The plug-in hybrid vessel will recharge its batteries using electricity from shore facilities or onboard by the ship’s generators.
- The vessel is planned to service Sandefjord-Strömstad between Norway and Sweden from summer 2019.
- According to Trond Kleivdal of Color Line, all Color Line Norwegian ports will have shore power facilities.
