Corvus Energy has won a 10-year agreement to provide Scandlines’ hybrid ferry fleet with traditional service and maintenance of its energy storage system (ESS) and remote condition-based monitoring service.
- Corvus will carry out service and maintenance of the hybrid RoPax ferries that use its lithium-ion based energy storage system to provide battery power.
- According to Scandlines, the Berlin and the Copenhagen ferries have reduced fuel consumption by almost one third since using the Corvus ESS.
- Corvus ESS uses lithium ion cells with nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry to rapidly charge and discharge, increase lifespan, provide high energy and power density, and operate between 0°C to +50°C.
