Crowley Maritime has released a video of its new shore-side liquefied natural gas facility in Jacksonville, Florida.
- Facility aims to provide fuel for Crowley’s two new LNG-powered combined container/RoRo ships, which are to begin service in late 2017 and early 2018 on the S. Mainland-Puerto Rico trade route.
- Crowley says it is investing US $550 million into these LNG-powered ships and other port equipment at its Isla Grande terminal, Puerto Rico.
- Crowley’s partner, Eagle LNG says that it expects LNG demand to increase to 30 tonnes a year by 2030 and support Crowley’s early adoption of the fuel.
