Crystal Cruises and Star Cruises will feature ABB’s Azipod propulsion, automation, and marine software across five newbuilds.
- Three Crystal Cruises ships will use two Azipod D units each to facilitate navigation in polar conditions.
- Two Star Cruises ships will each feature three Azipod XO thrusters.
- All five vessels will also use ABB’s flagship automation with Intelligent Manoeuvring Interface and OCTOPUS marine software for improving energy management.
- The ships will be built by MV Werften, Germany.
