Damen Shipyards Group has signed a Sales Agreement with AEC Maritime to enable ship owners easy access to International Maritime Organization (IMO) compliant marine scrubbers.
The sulphur oxides (SOx) reducing technology removes 98% of sulphur from the exhaust gas of any type of engine, allowing the ship to burn cheaper heavy fuel oil (HFO) while remaining compliant in SOx Emission Control Areas (ECAs).
The Sales Agreement is expected to benefit ship owners by allowing all activities, such as onboard visits 3D scanning, engineering, piping, project management and installation, to be executed under one roof. The Agreement also includes details on AEC’s involvement in after sales service and maintenance contracts.
