d’Amico International Shipping has taken delivery of the first of three new eco tankers, all of which will benefit from reduced fuel consumption, emissions and better environmental performance.
The tankers are being built at the Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard in Vietnam, with the Cielo di Salerno having been delivered on October 21, 2016.
Cielo di Salerno is a handysize vessel and the two that will be delivered in November 2016 and the beginning of 2017 are the medium-range ships High Wind and High Challenge.
The total order for the three ships is US $104 million.
One of the tankers has been chartered to an international oil major for three years, while the others will be placed on the spot market.
