DEME Orders Sixth Dual-Fuel Ship

Belgian dredging, environmental and marine engineering group DEME have a sixth dredger ship on order, Bonny River, which will feature a dual-fuel engine to permit use of both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and regular diesel.

The Bonny River will also carry a Green Passport and Clean Design clarification, a certification that awarded to owners and contractors who choose to build and operate their ships in an environmentally friendly way.

The ship order has been placed at Royal IHC but will be built by Cosco at its shipyard in Guangdong, China.
