DNV GL has released a set of guidelines on how to comply with the IMO’s Ballast Water Management Convention.
- Guidelines intend to support ship owners, managers, shipyards, suppliers, design offices and flag States with the implementation phase of the Convention.
- BWM Plan must be on board before September 8, 2017 and installation of BWM system by first IOPP renewal survey after this date.
- Checklist given for ship owners that includes identifying which ships are subject to the convention and submitting BWM Plan
